Antti Louhivaara
Antti Louhivaara is one of the leading loudspeaker designers in Finland and his works has been highly praised in international audio community. Louhivaara has earlier designed loudspeakers manufactured by Amphion and ASL. In the year 2007 Louhivaara decided to start the production of entirely new way designed loudspeakers for most demanding High-End purists. So was born a new High-End loudspeaker brand – Aurelia.

Designer`s vision
When I started to design Aurelia-speakers I wanted to avoid mediocre solutions in every possible way. The first goal from very start was to create completely new series of loudspeakers with totally new kind of acoustical approach. Start point of design was to recognize typical conditions where loudspeakers are most usually used. From that basis the basic designing principles were defined.
Loudspeakers are aimed to be used in ordinary living conditions and therefore the most important criteria are their behavior in the most typical listening environment, namely your own living room. In order to behaving in best possible way in these typical circumstances, the basic designing principle has to be smooth and coherent energy response combined with proper amount of directivity. These accompanied with liveliness and musicality the result is pleasant, exuberant listening experience.
The design principles should be always able to be distinctly justified in all conditions. The basic principles of design should be kept as simple and straightforward as possible but not for any price however. Thought simple is usually beautiful, beautiful is not necessarily simple. Things are in control in best way when always kept in mind that laws of physics are valid even with loudspeaker designing issues.
Thoroughly made acoustical design covers 90 % of the outcome of speaker. When acoustic design has been performed carefully the electrical design after that is piece of cake. Though loudspeakers should be measured as well it should be kept in mind that even flawless measured performance doesn’t necessarily guarantee successful result. In contrast poor measured performance guarantees poor sound quality almost invariably. However, never forget that loudspeakers are made for listening, not for measuring purpose.
Thought my earlier designs have been praised in whole audio community to the sky high, it wasn’t until now with Aurelia- speakers where the best qualities of this acoustic system are seriously materializing. In addition to be accurate and clean the sound of these speakers are highly pleasant, lively and musical. In Aurelia-speakers musicality is more than just an empty slogan.
